As Digital Rights Frontlines (DRF) embarks on a new chapter, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible contributions of the outgoing board members of #defyhatenow South Sudan and celebrate the incoming leadership that will guide our mission forward.
Since the establishment of #defyhatenow South Sudan in 2019, the outgoing board members have demonstrated unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership in advancing our organization’s mission. Their vision and dedication have been instrumental in shaping #defyhatenow into a respected and impactful organization addressing hate speech, misinformation, and digital rights advocacy across South Sudan and beyond.

We extend our deepest gratitude to:
Jaiksana Jambu, whose dedication to engaging refugees through media, education, and technology fostered more equitable and informed societies.
Nyadak Maya, a peace and conflict practitioner who brought invaluable expertise in peacebuilding and ICT development.
Gak Geudit, a youth leader and entrepreneur whose focus on community empowerment and rural development inspired transformative change.
Kim Otor, a journalist and trainer who championed ethical reporting and hate speech mitigation.
Marina Modi, a social impact advocate whose leadership as Executive Director ensured #defyhatenow reached new heights.

Together, they cultivated an environment of resilience and innovation, enabling the organization to deliver groundbreaking initiatives such as 211Check, Scenius Hub, and SafetyComm, which continue to empower communities with accurate information and protect individuals from cyber threats.
Their legacy is woven into the fabric of DRF’s success.
